Now that spring is here, the beloved trends of the season
are too. Of course pastels and floral are in again, but there’s many more new
and exciting trends this spring.
1. The Sporty Trend
Many designers
have been going all out with the sporty trend, with trainers, mesh and loose
fits. This is a very easy look to get at home, just pair a long jersey with
leggings and classic Timberlands. For a more casual outfit, try pairing
boyfriend jeans with a plain white t-shirt and ankle boots, and accessorize
with a hat
2. The White Trend
As
we’re leaving the huge trend of black from last season, I’m seeing a lot more
white taking its place. I’ll admit, wearing an all white outfit is harder than
wearing all black, especially when wearing white denim. An easier way to wear
this trend is with a white skirt and cropped tank. Accents and accessories that
aren’t white also help make this more wearable.
3. The Shift Blouse
This season,
I’ve been seeing this style on and off the runway, the shift blouse. This style
is great because it’s flattering to many different shapes. It’s also very
comfortable and casual. On the runway, the fabrics for this style were
generally stiff, but for a more day to day style, try going for a boxy cotton
shirt. This is great paired with a short pant or boyfriend jeans.
This trend
has been dominating on and off the runway, and is probably the most versatile
trend. Crops are great with anything high waisted, especially jeans and midi
skirts. Also, wearing a tight-fitting crop can offset the bagginess of a pair
of loose bottoms. There are countless ways to wear a cropped shirt, but my
favorite bottoms to pair them with are looser skirts, like circle or maxi
skirts; or with a loose pair of pants.
5. Sandals
This is such
a fun trend, and goes perfectly along with spring weather. For anyone who has a
hard time dressing up shorts, gladiators are great. Also, sandal platforms add
such a trendy touch to any outfit while also adding height. Try pairing these with either shorts, skirts,
or flowy pants.
This is a
style I love because it’s chic and comfortable at the same time. These look
great with short top and sandals or heels. While it does look good with a
short, tighter shirt, it also pairs well with long, looser tops.
Of course,
pastel is back! This yearly trend is back and subtler than ever! Although most
of the looks on the runway were all pastel, I’ve been seeing a lot of
accessorizing with pastel, from nails to bags, focusing mainly on pastel blue.
I recommend adding a pastel bag with a monochrome outfit as a pop of color.
